What shapes us
Our Values
The commitments that shape how Cedarfield worships, welcomes, serves, and makes decisions.

What to know
Our values are the commitments we return to when we make decisions about worship, programs, relationships, finances, and community partnerships. They are not a claim that we always get everything right; they are a guide for the kind of church we are trying to become.
Faith grounds us. We gather around the story of Jesus Christ, Scripture, prayer, worship, and the conviction that God's love continues to call people toward compassion, courage, and hope.
Inclusion shapes our welcome. As an Affirming Ministry, we want people of every sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, race, ability, family structure, and economic circumstance to know that their presence and participation matter.
Justice leads us beyond ourselves. We seek to listen to our neighbours, support practical responses to hunger and isolation, learn about reconciliation, care for creation, and participate in the wider Mission and Service work of The United Church of Canada.
Curiosity and humility make room for growth. We value thoughtful questions, respectful disagreement, lifelong learning, and the willingness to change when we discover a better way to live our commitments.
Community reminds us that faith is not only individual. We celebrate together, grieve together, volunteer together, and make space for people to offer their gifts in ways that are sustainable and meaningful.
