Council

Meet the governance team that helps guide Cedarfield's mission, stewardship, and congregational life.

Leadership in service

Cedarfield's Council provides governance and strategic leadership for the congregation. It works with ministry personnel, staff, committees, and volunteers to help the church remain faithful to its mission while managing the practical responsibilities of congregational life.

Council responsibilities include oversight of finances, property, policies, staffing, risk management, ministry priorities, and long-range planning. Major decisions are brought to the congregation when required by Cedarfield's governance model or the policies of The United Church of Canada.

A typical Council includes elected congregational members with different areas of experience, along with ministry personnel and other designated leaders. Members are asked to listen carefully, communicate clearly, protect confidentiality where required, and keep the wider mission of the church in view.

Council normally meets on a regular schedule throughout the year. Agendas commonly include financial reports, ministry updates, facilities matters, policy reviews, community partnerships, upcoming congregational meetings, and emerging pastoral or operational needs.

Current Council member names, meeting dates, approved minutes, and governance documents can be added to this page when the congregation is ready to publish them.
